To fish or to tie... THAT's the question !

Call It What You Like (CIWYL)
(door Hindrick)

materials :
Hook: 13-17 TMC 102Y
Tail. Gold pheasant crest.
Body: ½ threat olive 6/0.
           ½ olive snow bunny dubbing.
Wing: CDC gray

Start setting up threat till almost end shank.
Than thy in a few gold pheasant crest fibers 3-5
Than wind back till half the shank length. To for a nice body. If all goes well you will have a slight tapered body. (due to the crest feathers tight in last bit to cover shank)
Now dub the threath with a mixture of not to fine snow-bunny feet fur.
I cut it of close to the elbow connection of the former bunny (that has a nice mixture and not to course)
I just wax the threat and spin the dubbing around it.
Than I form the 1st half of the front body with the dubbing.
Than I take a cdc feather an carefully pul the fibres to the point. Before I Thy it in.
You have to thy the feather with the (belly of the) bent towards the shank.
Than I always test the feather by bending it forwards to the eye to look if it will form a nice loop.
(Because it is natural material it does not always do what you would like it to do).
If I'm happy with the looks of it I dub the second part of the front body close to the eye.

If that's done I pull the cdc feather to the eye after I moved al fibres with my other hand to the tail.
Secure the feather with some turns of threat to see if you still like the looks of it. Also from the top.
If you like it cut of the remains of the cdc feather at the eye and whip-finnish the fly.

And ready is your fly.
